Getting Ready to go HOME

In one week from today, I will be setting out for Uganda.  I'll be spending the semester studying post-conflict transformation, mainly in Gulu.  For about the first month I will get to live with a local family and learn Acholi, the native language.  I'm so excited to be immersed in the culture of this country because I have been missing it since I first visited in 2009.  Then, I was privileged to meet amazing people at places like Canaan Children's Home, Smile Africa, and more.  Devoting time to volunteering with the mission team, I saw so many troubling things and it left me with a lot of questions.  Now I will be able to learn about this place I have fallen in love with!  I feel like I am going back home after 3 years away.
